What is the purpose of a Glock back plate?

The practical purpose of a Glock’s back plate is to protect the striker. Without it, dirt and debris could get in, preventing your striker from striking. Aftermarket parts can add additional functionality, such as making racking the slide more fluid or adding texture to improve grip in wet conditions. But one of the most popular reasons to get an aftermarket back plate is customization — and that’s exactly what MILSPIN’s 9mm engraved back plates are designed for!

Are backplates one size fits all?

Just like you can’t use the same ammo for all Glock models, you can’t use the same back plates for all models. For example, the Glock 42 is chambered for .380 ACP, which means everything from the barrel to the back plate will be a specific size. The 9mm engraved back plate designs for a Glock 43 won’t fit a Glock 42.

Are all Glock back plates interchangeable?

Yes! Glock pistols are designed to be completely disassembled and reassembled by responsible gun owners. That means that the metal back plate is 100% interchangeable and can be swapped by yourself at home.
